Bradley Cooper will produce and possibly star in American Sniper.

The feature film will be the first project for the actor-turned-producer’s production company 22nd & Indiana.

American Sniper is based on the best-selling autobiography of US Navy Seal soldier Chris Kyle entitled American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History. The book spent 13 weeks on the New York Times best-selling list.

Soldier Chris garnered the highest number of sniper kills in American history. The tome details how the military man valiantly killed his enemies from far distances and in close range.

Paranoia writer Jason Deal Hall will pen the screenplay.

Bradley is co-producing the project with Andrew Lazar and Peter Morgan.

Bradley set up his production operation at Warner Brothers in March.

The actor will next appear in comedy Hit and Run, which is scheduled for release in August.
