Milla Jovovich: Marni rocks
Milla Jovovich says Marni pieces are like “rock ‘n’ roll Jackie O”.
The actress attended the Marni at H&M launch party in Los Angeles at the weekend which drew a star-studded crowd, including Drew Barrymore, Jessica Chastain, Imogen Poots, Freida Pinto and Lily Collins.
Sofia Coppola - who helmed the advertising film and print campaign for the high street retailer’s upcoming collection with the Italian fashion label – was also at the launch.Milla is a friend of Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni, and says she’s “always respected” the brand. The stunning star says the designs are reminiscent of former American First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis – who was famed for her ever-elegant attire.“Everyone loves Marni’s prints, everyone loves Marni’s cuts,” she told People. “They really know how to bring the best out of a woman. It’s classic, beautifully shaped … it’s almost like rock ‘n’ roll Jackie O.”The collection of women’s and men’s clothing and accessories will launch in H&M stores worldwide and online next month.Drew Barrymore thinks the line’s ability to merge high end fashion with affordable attire is a fabulous idea.“I love that it’s accessible and affordable,” she said. “I mean, bottom line, I want to get a bag of clothes for the price of one garment. That’s what shopping is all about for me.”Freida Pinto also loves the idea that the designer label is accessible to cash-strapped fashionistas.“I wouldn’t go out always and buy a designer dress,” she revealed.“But I do shop at H&M, so it’s nice for me to know that I can have an H&M Marni, and not just a Marni — which would burn a hole in my pocket!”© Cover Media
