The Rock reveals Caine bond

The Rock and Sir Michael Caine had “outstanding chemistry” while shooting their new movie.

The actor-and-wrestler – real name Dwayne Johnson – was thrilled when he realised Michael was involved in his latest project Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The film sees a young boy search for his grandfather after receiving a distress call from a strange location.

The Rock and Michael built up a strong bond while filming.

“We had an outstanding chemistry from the beginning. I have been such a big admirer of Sir Michael for years now. He is humble, he's gracious, he's a man's man, tells a great dirty joke. We had a great chemistry off screen, and a great biting chemistry onscreen,” he enthused to British newspaper The Guardian.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is a 3D movie which attracted The Rock to the project. He enjoyed pushing the boundaries while shooting – including having a berry bounce off his pecs into the audience in one scene.

The star believes he perfectly placed to act in movies using the new technology.

“The film is a lot of fun. It's visually stunning with some great special effects, some great action sequences, some great tension and adventure. Last, but certainly not least, I look great in 3D,” he laughed.
