Simon Pegg annoyed by movie spoilers
Simon Pegg says movie spoilers “annoy” him.
Rather than being flattered by fans trying to find out as much as possible about upcoming films, he finds such ambitions plain nosy. The Shaun of the Dead star believes that publishing new details about a blockbuster is more about the thrill of landing an exclusive rather than generating interest in the picture.“I think people just want to have a scoop. It annoys me – it’s beyond the point to just ferret around for spoilers all the time to try to be the first to break them,” he told British newspaper The Telegraph. “It just spoils the film. It masquerades as interest in the movie but really it’s just nosiness and impatience. You just want to say, ‘Oh f **k off! Wait for the film!’”However, Pegg did reveal some details about the highly-anticipated Star Trek sequel. The star portrays Scotty in the modern version of the popular franchise and explained the challenges of topping the hugely successful 2009 movie.“This time we had the benefit of being able to hit the ground running - we spent some time in the first one re-establishing the characters. Now we have a fully set-up group of people that we can just get on with straight away. So it ups the ante slightly, and we’ve all had more to do. So it’s totally incumbent on us to not drop the ball. It would be a disaster if it wasn’t as good as – or better than – the first one,” he said.
