Sep 24 – American author and journalist Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk experienced a strong first week of sales, selling 92,560 copies.
According to information gathered by book tracker Circana BookScan, the biography of the founder of Tesla and X (formerly, Twitter), titled “Elon Musk,” contained print copies sold through September 16.
Musk commented on the record-breaking sales on Sunday, saying: “Cool, although it’s kinda weird seeing so many close-up pics of my face.”
The achievement places Isaacson’s 2011 biography of late Apple Co-founder Steve Jobs, which sold almost 383,000 copies in its first week, ahead of “Elon Musk’s biography” as the second best-selling first-week title.
Just a few weeks after Jobs’ passing on October 5, 2011, the book was released.
