Veteran Tollywood actor Mohan Babu has been booked for attempt to murder following an alleged attack on a TV journalist at his residence in Jalpally, Telangana. The incident unfolded during a confrontation involving his son, actor Manchu Manoj, and other journalists. The dispute stems from an ongoing family conflict reportedly involving property issues.
According to the police, the journalist, M. Satyanarayana from TV9, sustained severe injuries, including fractures, after being struck with a microphone by Mohan Babu. The attack reportedly occurred when Satyanarayana questioned the actor about his ongoing disagreement with his son. Following the incident, protests by journalists led the authorities to escalate the charges under relevant legal provisions
Mohan Babu’s elder son, Manchu Vishnu, termed the attack as impulsive, while Manchu Manoj apologized on behalf of his father. Meanwhile, the actor, who has been hospitalized due to health concerns, has sought relief from court appearances until December 24
