21 people were killed while 69 others were injured in a bus accident in Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir. Expressing grief over this road accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that, I am saddened by the bus accident in Akhnoor. My condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The families of those who died in this bus accident will be given a compensation of 2-2 lakh rupees and 50-50 thousand rupees will be given to the injured.
Jammu and Kashmir Transport Commissioner Rajendra Singh said about the people killed in the bus accident that 21 people died in the Akhnoor bus accident and 69 other people were also injured.

The bus full of pilgrims was coming from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh. The driver of the bus suddenly lost control, due to which the bus skidded off the road at Chungi Mor area of Akhnoor on the Jammu-Poonch highway and fell into a ditch about 150 feet deep.
After the bus accident, relief and rescue operations were started immediately. Which was monitored by army officers, senior civil, police and local citizens.
The injured are being treated at Akhnoor Hospital. Those who are seriously injured were referred from Akhnoor Hospital to Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu city for better treatment. Officials said that the people who died in this accident have not yet been identified. People are still being identified correctly.
President Draupadi Murmu and Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Governor Manoj Sinha have also expressed deep grief over the Akhnoor bus accident.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also expressed grief over this accident. On X, he posted a condolence message and wrote that the loss of life in an unfortunate bus accident in Jammu and Kashmir is extremely sad. My condolences go out to those who have lost loved ones in this accident. Senior officials of Uttar Pradesh have been instructed to maintain constant contact with the authorities of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a prayer to Lord Ram that He may place the departed souls at His feet and grant speedy recovery to the injured.
