On March 3, 2025, a tragic accident occurred on the newly inaugurated Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway in Karnataka’s Kolar district, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including a two-year-old child, and injuries to four others.

Details of the Incident:

  • Victims: The deceased have been identified as Mahesh (45), Udvita (2), and Ratnamma (60), all occupants of an Innova car. The identity of the deceased motorcyclist remains unknown.

  • Injured: The injured—Sushmita, Viruta, Sujata, and Sunil—have been admitted to a private hospital in Kolar for treatment.

  • Circumstances: The victims, residents of Kammasandra village near Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), were returning home from Bengaluru when their car collided with a motorcycle near Kuppanahalli in Bangarapet taluk. Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding was a contributing factor to the accident.
