The summons issued to Arvind Kejriwal has been canceled by the Goa Bench of Bombay High Court. This summons was issued against Arvind Kejriwal regarding his speech during the 2017 assembly elections.
AAP Goa President Amit Palekar said, “A complaint was filed by the Election Commission in 2017 at Mapusa police station. The summons issued by JMFC (Mapusa) has been quashed by the Goa High Court.
On November 28 last year, the local court of Goa had issued summons to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the case of alleged violation of the code of conduct and directed him to appear on November 29. The lawyer representing Kejriwal had requested the court to give time to study the documents.
CM Kejriwal was issued summons by Judicial Magistrate First Class to answer for alleged violation of Section 123 (1) of the Representation of the People Act and Section 171 B, 171 (E) of the IPC. Palekar said the case will be heard before the JMFC on February 12.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had contested the Goa Assembly elections in 2017 and 2022. AAP did not get a single seat in the 2017 Goa Assembly elections, but it won two seats in the 2022 Goa Assembly elections.
