Narendra Modi is not the Prime Minister of India; Moments before appearing before a Delhi court in a money-laundering case related to the alleged Delhi liquor policy, AAP MP Sanjay Singh had on a recent occasion said that he is the prime minister of industrialist Gautam Adani. In a video shared by AAP, Singh can be seen being taken away by police officers, and when he encountered a member of the media he seized the opportunity to make sharp remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Modi ji is not the Prime Minister of India, but he is the Prime Minister of Adani. When will there be an inquiry into the alleged misconduct of Adani?” Singh commented.
After this, the court ordered to keep Singh in judicial custody till October 27. Special Judge MK Nagpal delivered the verdict after the Enforcement Directorate produced Singh before the court after the expiry of his previous custody period.

Sanjay Singh was detained on 4 October. The Enforcement Directorate has accused him of playing a key role in the formulation and implementation of the controversial liquor policy.
The liquor policy initiated by the AAP-led Delhi government was scrapped after Lieutenant Governor Anil Saxena ordered a CBI probe. Officials claim that the policy unfairly benefited specific liquor manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers at the expense of the public exchequer in exchange for allegedly illegal payments.
On 10 October, a trial court extended Singh’s custody with the Enforcement Directorate till 13 October. Recently, Singh had challenged his arrest in the Delhi High Court.
