On May 11, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level security meeting at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, to assess the situation following the recent ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The discussions focused on evaluating Pakistan’s adherence to the ceasefire, particularly in light of reported violations, including drone incursions into Indian airspace and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC). Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri highlighted these breaches, stating that India has responded appropriately and urged Pakistan to address the violations with seriousness.
The ceasefire, brokered with international support, including U.S. involvement, was intended to halt military actions following escalating tensions due to a deadly militant attack in Indian-administered Kashmir. Despite the agreement, the situation remains tense, with both nations accusing each other of violations.
The Indian government continues to monitor the situation closely, emphasizing its commitment to national security and readiness to respond to any further provocations.
