Showing solidarity and support, they also extended aid to the North African nation. “Deeply saddened by the loss of life due to the earthquake in Morocco. At this tragic moment, my thoughts are with the people of Morocco. My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I wish the injured a speedy recovery.” India stands ready to provide any necessary assistance to Morocco during this challenging period,” Modi shared through his social media platforms.
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck central Morocco late on Friday, resulting in the unfortunate death of at least 296 people, while dozens more were injured. Morocco’s interior ministry said in an official statement early Saturday that most of the deaths occurred in provinces outside urban areas. They have confirmed the death of 296 people and the hospitalization of 153 injured. As the nation mourns its loss, India’s offer of support and condolences serves as a testament to international solidarity in times of crisis.
