Jyoti Malhotra, a travel YouTuber from Hisar, Haryana, was recently arrested on charges of espionage for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Her father, Harish Malhotra, initially defended her actions, stating she visited Pakistan to create travel videos. However, he later retracted this statement, claiming he was unaware of her trips to Pakistan and believed she was traveling to Delhi.
Authorities allege that Jyoti Malhotra came into contact with a Pakistani official at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi in 2023. She reportedly traveled to Pakistan at least twice, maintaining continuous contact with Pakistani citizens, and shared sensitive information through encrypted messaging platforms.
Her YouTube channel, “Travel with JO,” featured over 450 videos, including several documenting her travels in Pakistan. Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of her activities and any potential links to other individuals involved in espionage.
