In the wake of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a strong condemnation and vowed decisive action against the perpetrators.
During his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio address on April 27, PM Modi expressed profound sorrow and anger over the incident, stating, “I can feel that the blood of every Indian is on the boil after seeing the pictures of the terrorist attack.” He emphasized that the attack was a deliberate attempt by terrorists and their supporters to destabilize the region, saying, “Terrorists and their masters want Kashmir to be destroyed once again.”
The Prime Minister assured the nation that those responsible for the attack would face the “harshest response” and that justice would be served. He highlighted that the attack was an attempt to derail the progress and peace returning to Kashmir, which had been witnessing increased tourism and development.
In response to the attack, the Indian government has taken several measures, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, expelling Pakistani diplomats, and closing major border crossings. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has commenced a thorough investigation, with key eyewitnesses providing crucial information.
International leaders have expressed solidarity with India, condemning the attack and supporting India’s stance against terrorism.
