Rahul Gandhi, a prominent Congress leader, took a dig at the BJP, emphasizing the clash of ideologies between the two parties. He likened the contrast to “Shiv Ki Baraat,” symbolizing unity and inclusivity.
Joined by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson Tushar Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi engaged in a dialogue with representatives from NGOs and civil society. The focus was on the five guarantees (Nyay) he had proposed during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, culminating at Chaityabhoomi.
Their padyatra, starting from August Kranti ground and ending at Mani Bhavan in south Mumbai, saw participation from Congress leaders across Mumbai and Maharashtra.
“The strength of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was not just me, but the millions of Indians who walked alongside. This battle isn’t merely between Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi, or Congress and BJP. It’s a clash of ideologies—one advocating top-down governance, while the other champions decentralization. In essence, it’s akin to ‘Shiv Ki Baraat’,” remarked Rahul Gandhi.
He urged people not to succumb to fear, highlighting the ideological divergence. “Some claim that the BJP will amend the constitution, but they lack the audacity. Truth and the essence of Hindustan are on our side in this struggle,” he asserted.
Speaking on socio-economic disparities, Rahul Gandhi criticized the systemic injustices faced by marginalized communities. “Injustice against the poor, Dalits, and women fuels the growing animosity in our country. Only a fraction receive justice, despite government assurances,” he lamented.
Addressing policy measures, he recalled instances where progressive initiatives faced opposition. “When we proposed farm loan waivers and MGNREGA, critics warned of adverse consequences. Yet, when billions are written off for a handful of elites, there’s silence. We must address issues like paper leaks, MSP, and GST woes collectively,” he urged.
Rahul Gandhi underscored the importance of solidarity in combating injustices. “This movement thrives when we protect each other’s interests. It’s not just my battle, but one for every individual facing injustice,” he concluded.
