Two innocents were killed by a barber in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun on Tuesday evening. The incident was carried out a few steps away from Mandi Chowki. After this, the main accused in this case was killed in a police encounter. After the incident of killing the children, tension prevailed in the area and the mob in Badaun city started rioting and arson.
Bareilly IG Dr. when this incident was reported to the police. Rakesh Singh, Badayun DM Manoj Kumar along with senior officers reached the spot on the information of the murder. Bareilly IG Rakesh Kumar said that the police tried to catch the criminal, meanwhile the criminal fired at the police. The police also fired in defense, in which the criminal was killed. In view of the prevailing tension in the area, a heavy police force has been deployed at the spot. Badaun DM Manoj Kumar said that the situation is under control.
About the criminal, Bareilly IG Rakesh Kumar said that detailed information about the criminal is being gathered. The criminal has killed two children playing on the roof, for which action is being taken.
Vinod Kumar and his wife Sangeeta live in Baba Colony in Badaun. Sangeeta was alone at home with her three children. Sangeeta’s parlor is just below the house. Javed and Sajid run the salon opposite. Both of them used to fight with Vinod’s family. Neighbors said that Sajid and Javed reached Vinod’s house on Tuesday evening and attacked Vinod’s three sons on the second floor with razor blades. In which Vinod’s two children Aayush and Ahan died, while the third son Piyush was also slightly injured in this attack. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Sangeeta, the mother of the three children, was in her parlor when this incident happened. When people heard the screams, they all rushed upstairs. After committing the incident, the accused absconded from there. Neighbors said that Javed was standing near the door after this murder. After receiving the information, the police reached Vinod’s house and arrested Javed and took him to Mandi Chowki. Dozens of people from the area gathered at Vinod’s house after the shouting. People raised slogans there and Javed’s shop was pelted with stones and vandalized.
When the police chased away the crowd gathered there, people blocked the Dataganj road. The escalating riots were contained by the deployment of PAC, police and paramilitary forces. DM Manoj Kumar and SSP Alok Priyadarshi reached the spot when there was commotion. Instructions have been given to file an FIR on the tahrir of Vinod, the father of the dead children.
Badanyu DM Manoj Kumar said the situation is under control and the police have sent the bodies of both the children for post-mortem. The reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained.
