New Delhi, November 23 (UITV)- India is today recognized as the fifth largest economy in the world and is moving rapidly towards progress. In the coming years, India is moving towards becoming the fourth and then the third largest economy. There is an atmosphere of confidence in the country about this progress and under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving towards becoming a global manufacturing hub.
A new energy and momentum is being seen in the Indian manufacturing sector. Prime Minister Modi’s vision and his plans are getting a lot of appreciation in this direction. Bharat Forge Chairman Baba Kalyani spoke at a media event about India taking inspiration from Germany in the field of manufacturing, forging and engineering.
Baba Kalyani further said that just as Germany is famous all over the world for its quality and technical skills, India should also learn from its working style and model to become a product nation. Germany is a big name for car manufacturing, machine tools and other equipment. He also said that India has all the qualities required to become a manufacturing hub such as ambition, abundance of raw materials and a large market. However, there are still many challenges, which the government is constantly working to overcome.
With the aim of making India a manufacturing hub, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘PM Gati Shakti Yojana’ was especially appreciated. This scheme is playing an important role in strengthening the country’s infrastructure and improving logistics.
The ‘PM Gati Shakti’ scheme is a national master plan, under which coordination is being established between 16 ministries. The goal is to speed up work and cut costs by bringing projects of ministries like road, rail, oil and gas on a digital platform. Industries are expected to get a big benefit from this multi-modal connectivity.
Another example of progress in this direction is the Mercedes-Benz Group. The company has announced that it is prioritizing production for the domestic market in India. Along with this, Mercedes-Benz is also planning to increase its production for export. This model of the company has been implemented earlier in markets like America, China and South Africa and now work is being done towards expanding it in India.
The government and the industry are working together to strengthen the manufacturing sector in India. Through the ‘PM Gati Shakti Yojana’ and other reform measures, India is not only moving towards becoming a self-reliant country, but is also realizing its goal of becoming a global manufacturing hub. Learning from countries like Germany and with the investment of companies like Mercedes, India’s manufacturing sector is ready to touch new heights.
