Ranjit Ranjan said in his letter about Delhi’s pollution, “Every winter in the National Capital Region, people struggle to breathe clean air and face respiratory diseases. Strict steps should be taken immediately to stop pollution.”
Before the session, on Sunday, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju called for peaceful functioning of Parliament during an all-party meeting. He said that the government is ready to discuss every topic, provided the proceedings of the House run smoothly. He appealed to all the members for cooperation and said that everyone’s participation is necessary to make the winter session a success.
TDP MPs have demanded discussion in Parliament on all major issues related to Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, CPI (M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas has given a zero hour notice demanding special financial assistance from the Central Government for the people affected by the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala.
A special program will be organized during the winter session on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. This program will be organized in the Central Hall of the Old Parliament House, where tribute will be paid to the Constitution makers. This will be an occasion to remember the values of the Constitution and democracy and to express commitment to them.
The Waqf Amendment Bill is prominent among the bills to be introduced in the session. It has been prepared with the aim of improving the management of properties related to the Muslim community. Apart from this, the government is also ready to discuss other bills, which are related to the development of the country and public welfare.
