Gananoque, Oct 24 (UITV) - 1000 Islands (Thousand Islands) is one of the wonderful places in World, it constitute an archipelago of 1,864 islands that straddles the Canada–US border in the Saint Lawrence River as it emerges from the northeast corner of Lake Ontario.


The flow of tourists started around 150 years ago, it consists of many entertaining angles like Lighthouses, historic castles, maritime museums, world-class fishing and diving, quaint downtown shopping, on-the-water dining, family amusements and more.


Magnificent state parks are perfect for hiking, camping, boating and some of the world's best trophy fishing!

Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River attract anglers from around the world for salmon, trout, pike, walleye and monster muskellunge.

Cape Vincent's French Festival

Cape Vincent's French Festival and Oswego's Harborfest are two great events which are organized in Lake Ontario which takes places in the month of July. Alexandria Bay celebrates pirate legends with Bill Johnston's Pirate Days every August.
