Abu Dhabi engineer murdered in Hyderabad, Gay partner detained

Male Partner Naresh admitted to murder of Abu Dhabi based Reddy

Abu Dhabi, July 11 (UITV): An Indian techie based in Abu Dhabi was found dead in a Hyderabad hotel room after being perniciously run through reportedly by his rejected male partner, according to Indian police.

An alumni of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, 29-year old Shrikant Reddy worked for a company in Abu Dhabi and was hitched to marry next month following his engagement with a woman from Vishakapatnam on June 20.

Police said Reddy had been involved in a same- sex relationship with boyfriend Naresh, 26, who was enraged over the former's decision to get married and thus killed him out of jealousy.

“The suspect then tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat in the same hotel room. He has admitted to the murder and is undergoing treatment at a hospital,” S. Murali Krishna, a senior officer at Hyderabad’s SR Nagar Police Station told Sources on Wednesday.

Investigations disclose Reddy, a native of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, informed his family that he was flying back to the UAE but rather checked in at Hyderabad’s Krrish Inn Lodge on July 2 where his gay partner Naresh joined him. The men stayed in the hotel for two days.

“It was a deliberate gruesome murder as Naresh carried a knife along with him to the hotel which he used to spear his partner on July 4. They were in a homosexual relationship, having met through social media,” claimed Kirshna

Police said the hotel staff got sceptical after the men remained locked in their room for over 24 hours.

When the staff broke into the room, they found Reddy lying dead in a puddle of blood, while Naresh was senseless and grappled to breath. “Naresh is making steady recovery and will be further questioned post his discharge from hospital.” said Krishna.
