Brindavan Garden

Bengaluru, July 15 (UITV) - Brindavan garden is a garden built at KRS Dam and the dam is located in the Mandya district of the Karnataka state which is built on the river Kaveri. It is attractive for flowers and the three terraced gardens in which flowering plants like celosia, marigolds, and bougainvilleas are found. The garden is mostly visited by the tourists and horticulturists as the latest growing techniques are demonstrated and various fruits, flowering plants are found in the plantation. The view is majestic in the evening due to the lightings and fountains. 

The garden is spread across 60 acres and was built in 1932. It started in 1927 and took 5 years to complete and was founded by the Dewan of Mysore Sir Mirza Ismail. The Dewan was fond of gardens and was inspired by Lalbagh Botanical Garden at Bangalore which was earlier built by Hyder Ali. Around 2 million tourists visit here annually.

Brindavan garden is open throughout the year for public with the usual opening time 06:30 in the morning and closing at 07:30 in the evening. The music fountain show is organized daily from 06:30 pm to 07:30 pm in the garden. The ticket rate for entry varies from children to adults and the average spend time here is 2 to 3 hours. There are various spots in the garden for the photoshoot, carrying a camera on the premises is allowed by taking a ticket. The charming colorful green environment gives the best place to enjoy picnic with your family and friends.

The garden is divided into four different areas the compromises of the main gate, north Brindavan, south Brindavan, and children’s garden. The famous Cauvery Statue along with the large water fountain is situated near the south Brindavan. Cypress plants can be spotted on the sloppy terraces and other rare plants are available in the glasshouse of the garden, guests also have a provision to purchase the plant.
