Brussels, Mar 22 (UITV/IANS) -The European Union (EU) has agreed on a plan to delay the Brexit process that avoids the UK crashing out without a deal and throws one last lifeline to British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Pyongyang pulls out of inter-Korean liaison office

Seoul, March 22 (UITV/IANS) - North Korea on Friday withdrew from a joint liaison office near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) with South Korea, which was opened amid a warming of ties last year to facilitate talks with Seoul.

South Korea's Unification Ministry announced the move, saying the decision had been taken by the North on "instructions from the superior authority", CNN reported.

In its communication with the South, Pyongyang said it would not mind Seoul's representatives "remaining in the office," which is based in Kaesong, a part of North Korea near the de-facto border between the two countries.

Diamantaire Nirav Modi arrested in London

London/New Delhi, March 20 (UITV/IANS) - Fourteen months after he fled India, fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi was on Wednesday arrested in London on charges of defrauding on a huge loan taken from the Punjab National Bank (PNB), official sources said.

Police made the arrest seven days after the London Westminster Court issued an arrest warrant against Nirav Modi who left India days before the scam came to light in January 2018.

He will be produced before a court later in the day.

The Interpol had issued a Red Corner Notice against Nirav Modi in July 2018 at the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The businessman's whereabouts were a mystery as he had been spotted in New York, Hong Kong and other cities. Along with his uncle Mehul Choksi of Gitanjali Group, Nirav Modi left the country before the CBI formally started investigating the PNB scam.

The ED had on May 24 and 26 last year filed chargesheets against both men. Non-bailable warrants were also issued against them.

New York, March 20 (UITV/IANS) - A team of scientists from NASA have discovered the evidence of abundant water-bearing minerals on the surface of the near-Earth asteroid Bennu.

Bennu is the target of NASA's Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) mission, which began orbiting the asteroid on December 31.
