Frank Bainimarama sworn in as Fiji PM

Suva, Sep 22 (IANS) : FijiFirst leader Voreqe Frank Bainimarama was Monday sworn-in the prime minister of the South Pacific Ocean island country.

 Bainimarama's FijiFirst party won the 2014 general election, raking in 293,714 of the total 496,364 votes cast to win 32 seats in the 50-member parliament, FijiLive reported.
 The swearing-in ceremony was attended by his wife Mary, his children, grandchildren, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, and members of the Electoral Commission besides other dignitaries.
 He will form his cabinet after returning from the ongoing 69th UN General Assembly in New York.
 FijiFirst won 32 seats, the Social Democratic Liberal Party won 15 while the National Federation Party won three seats in the 2014 general election held Sep 17.
