Hema Malini supports Jaya Bachchan's statement, Ranvir Shorey refutes their defense

Veteran actor Hema Malini is the latest celebrity to speak in defence of Bollywood's Drug & nepotism

Mumbai, Sept 16 (UITV): After Jaya Bachchan, veteran actor Hema Malini is the latest celebrity to speak in defence of Bollywood's Drug & nepotism controversy. The film industry is being criticised as a dark, underbelly of crime and substance abuse after the latest developments in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. On Tuesday, Jaya spoke in the Parliament about how Bollywood’s image is being tainted by few  people of the industry.

Hema said she agreed with Jaya’s statement. “You cannot stain the image of Bollywood. These are small instances, like a stain on a piece of cloth we must wash it away,” she said. “I have received a lot of love from this industry, how can I watch anyone say anything bad about it?,” she added.

Hema was speaking in an interview to a leading news channel that was called upon by nationals for defending Rhea Chakroaborthy too; she said that many actors have helped the industry to move forward. “Bollywood is a beautiful and creative world. It is an art and culture industry. I have gained name, recognition and respect from this industry,” she said. But, people who are alredy enraged at mishandling of Sushant Singh rajput's death case by Mumbai police, did not spare Jaya and celebrities like Farhan Akhtar, Urmila Matondkar, Anubhav Sinha, Sonam Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu and Diya Mirza who supported Jaya Bachchan's statement.

Though Jaya did not take any names, her speech came a day after BJP’s Lok Sabha MP and Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan said there was a problem of drug addiction in the film industry and that celebreties who appeared as role models for the young generations, were heavily addicted to drugs that were imported illegally from Pakistan and Nepal.  Jaya also took a jibe against kangana who termed the entertainment industry a “gutter” for its biased attitude towards outsiders like Sushant Singh Rajput and sympathizing with key accused Rhea Chakraborthy who is alleged to drug Sushant and drive him to death.

But, Ranvir Shorey who openly came out in support for Kangana and slammed Jaya Bachhan for defending Bollywood. Interestingly, we see Jaya stayed silent on mysterius death of Sushant Singh Rajput & dramatic demolition of Kangana Ranaut's office. instead they chose to speak for media trials and defamation of Rhea Chakraborthy who is held for providing drugs to Sushant Singh Rajput and suspected to play a key role in his death.
