How Indian Men were held in Sri Lanka for an illegal kidney transplant?

There were six Indian men, who escaped from a detention center in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Five of these six men are now book under the act of illegal transplantation of kidney and escape from the detention center.

This happened exactly in Thalaimannur in Colombo by the Pesalai police. All the five out of six Indian men were re-captured and were sent back to the detention center.

The suspects have escaped from the Mirihana detention Center where they were detained over the alleged involvement in the Kidney racket

Eight Indian nationals, who were arrested on March 4 for violating visa conditions, were found to be involved in illegal kidney transplantations in island's private hospitals.

They were detained at the Mirihana detention Center after producing them before the Colombo Magistrate's Court.

One of the suspects had escaped from the detention center earlier and fled to India. The others have escaped recently.

The police also arrested another individual suspected to have aided and abetted them to escape from the detention camp.

The Colombo Crimes Division had initiated a special investigation after it was reported that the suspects had escaped the detention center on Tuesday.

Police said the suspects will be handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division.

The one suspect is believed to have fled to India. The police has also arrested that person who has assisted them in fleeing the detention center

The suspects in question were arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into organized organ harvesting racket involving patients and donors from neighboring India.
