Guayaquil, Sep 27 (UITV)- There is no denying that the world is now increasingly acknowledging the allure of Indian beauty. India’s Lopamudra Raut brought great honor to the country after winning the second runner-up spot at Miss United Continents 2016, which was held in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
The competition saw 32 participants from the four continents of America, Asia, Europe and Africa, giving a stiff competition. Jeslyn Santos from Philippines won the title of Miss United Continents.
She also went on to win the Best National Costume sub-contest that was designed by Melvyn Noronha. Raut received a cash prize of $15,000.
“I still can’t believe that I have won the Miss United Continents title of second-runner up. I feel immensely proud and ecstatic. I am very happy for the support of my family, friends and fans that supported me through this journey,” Lopamudra said.
Lopamudra hails from Nagpur and completed her engineering before taking up modeling as a profession. She had won Femina Miss India Goa-2013, and sub-title of Femina Miss Body Beautiful-2014. She also took part in Miss Diva 2014 pageant and made it to ‘top 7’ as a finalist.
Previously, India’s Gail Nicole D’Silva won first runner-up at Miss United Continents 2014 and Sushrii Shreya Mishraa was crowned third runner-up at Miss United Continents 2015.
