North Carolina, June 7 (UITV)- Despite failing to advance past North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District Primary election in 2014, Indian-American pharmacist Ron Sanyal is running again for a seat in Congress from North Carolina. Ron has decided to run for the US House of Representatives out of North Carolina’s District 02 because he believes he can help move forward District 02 and the entire state.

Sanyal finished with 11.6 percent of the primary vote in 2014, finishing a distant third behind Brenda Cleary and Virginia Conlon. After the state redistricted, the 13th Congressional District fell into the 2nd Congressional District, where Republican Renee Ellmers is the incumbent.

Sanyal, a graduate from Jadavpur University, told the Fayetteville Observer, “I came here as an immigrant, and America has been good for me and my kids. I have lived here for 40 years and been an active lifelong democrat. All my life I’ve volunteered for the Democratic Party. Four of the other candidates have no track record with the democratic party.”

Ron has also volunteered with various local organizations serving those in need. Representing District 02 in the United States House of Representatives a natural progression in Ron’s commitment to serving his community.

Sanyal’s three main issues as part of his campaign are quality public education, job equality and justice for all. Ron will work to make sure all of North Carolina’s youth have access to a quality education and educational extracurricular activities.
