Indian-American Raj Shah inducted as Fellow to Energy Institute in UK

Penn State chemical engineering alumnus Raj Shah

New York, Sep 30 (UITV)- Penn State chemical engineering alumnus Raj Shah was recently inducted as a fellow to the energy Institute, citing the Indian American’s outstanding service and contributions in the field of petroleum and petrochemical engineering.

The current director of Koehler Instrument Company based in Holtville, New York, Shah was also recently awarded the Chartered Scientists status within the Science Council, UK.

The Science Council is a membership organization for professional bodies and learned societies across the disciplines of science. The organization aims to uniquely bring together and position a range of disciplines and sectors to reflect the multi-disciplinary practice of science in today’s society.

The Energy Institute is the professional body for the energy industry, which supports over 23,000 individuals working in or studying energy and 250 companies worldwide, providing learning opportunities to support professional development, as well as professional recognition and technical and scientific knowledge resources on energy in all its forms and applications.

Shah earned his doctoral degree in chemical engineering from Penn State in 1995 and has spent the past 20 years working in the oil and gas industry.

Since earning his Ph.D, Shah has retained ties with Penn State and currently serves as a member of the Industrial and Professional Advisory Council for The School of Engineering Design.
