Indian diaspora being encouraged by GOPIO to invest in India

Global Organization of People of Indian Origin

Washington, March 11 (UITV)- Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) is a non-partisan, secular global organization engaged in promoting the well being of people of Indian origin, enhancing cooperation and communication between Indians living in different countries.

With India at the threshold of adopting new technologies and business investments, the newly elected international executive council has a fresh new motto “GOPIO means business”.

Indian diaspora entrepreneurs and businessmen are being encouraged to take more interest in investing in India in all spheres, from business to education, healthcare to social causes, the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) has said.

GOPIO founder President, Dr. Thomas Abraham, who also serves as the Executive Trustee of the GOPIO Foundation, said that GOPIO will increase its social and philanthropic activities in India as well as in countries with a large Indian diaspora population.

GOPIO was formed in 1989 to promote the interest and aspirations of the Indian communities around the world and of specific groups residing in various countries of their adoption.

GOPIO President Niraj Baxi said, “With an investment and business friendly government in India, we seek a lot of opportunity for the Indian diaspora to invest and actively participate in India’s development.”
