Indian passports went missing in High Commission of Pakistan

New Delhi, 02-Jan-2019 (UITV) - Few Indians have approached police after their went missing in India.

"The Ministry of External Affairs has received information that a total 23 passports have been misplaced by the High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi,"External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said in Lok Sabha.

High Commission of Pakistan has misplaced 23 passports in New Delhi, Indian Ministry of External Affairs has declared those passports as 'lost' in the passport database to avoid misuse.

Pakistan issued visas to over 3,800 Sikh pilgrims to participate in the birthday anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev there from November 21-30.

23 Indians whose passports went missing had applied for visa to travel to Pakistan in High Commission of Pakistan. Those Indians (missing passports) belong to Sikh community, the purpose of visit to Pakistan is to visit Gurudwaras in that country.

Instructions have been issued to all authorities concerned to this matter, so that re-issuance of passports will be done swiftly.
