Indians celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi in Paris

It was a spectacular scene as thousands of enthusiastic Hindu devotees, men, women and children, wearing traditional dresses, paraded through the streets of this French capital to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, the festival of the popular elephant-headed deity.

The festival is celebrated in the temple for ten days at the end of which the "Utsava Murti" – an idol that is specially created only to be worshiped for the duration of a festival - of Lord Ganesh is mounted on the chariot. The idol this time was made in Tamil Nadu.
