India’s tour of Australia 2020 – is it still happening?

The Covid-19 pandemic has been the cause of changes in several planned occurrences around the globe, including schedules of cricketing events. One such occasion that all the cricket fans were waiting for eagerly was India’s tour of Australia that was scheduled to happen this year. As the cricketing field’s two giants, matches between India and Australia are always exciting and nail-biting, which is why all the cricket enthusiasts and fans were highly disappointed when all the sporting events came to a standstill. This tour was also expected to be a center of interest for cricket betting participants and be the center of attention of some of the most popular betting sites in India.

The good news is that this tour of Australia by the Indian cricket team is not cancelled!

Yes, there will be a few changes to the existing timetables, but the tour is definitely happening. Initially, the series was programmed to commence in October. The original schedule consisted of three Twenty20 International matches, four test matches, and three One Day International matches. However, because of the unforeseen circumstances of this global pandemic, there are now some changes in the original plan.

As decided, the series will now take place from December 2020 – January 2021. There will be no Twenty20 matches anymore, only four tests and three One Day international matches. The Twenty20 series was also suspended to avoid a clash with the postponed IPL season that is now scheduled to happen from September to November in UAE.

The Test Series

There will be a total of four test matches played between the two teams – Australia and India. The schedule of this test series is as follows:

There will be a total of three One Day International matches between Australia and India. The schedule of this ODI series is as follows:

So, with the IPL season scheduled to start next month, and then the Indian cricket team’s tour of Australia, a lot of action is coming for the cricket fans. The fans and players are equally excited and happy for the thrilling and nail-biting matches to happen in the field after quite a long and unfortunate halt.
