Indiaspora inaugural ball to be held in January 2017 for 45th President of US

Washington, Sep 20 (UITV)- An Indian diaspora group will organize an inaugural ball for the 45th President of the US in January 2017 to highlight the importance of Indian-American community in American politics.

The second presidential ball organized by Indiaspora on January 18, which would be attended by top Indian American personalities, US lawmakers and possibly the new President too, would signify the emergence of the community, according to the event organizer.

The Indian American investor and philanthropist M R Rangaswami was found saying, “this would be a bipartisan event to celebrate the success and significance of the Indian American community and to welcome the new administration.”

He hoped that with community support, the second presidential ball might attendance of the new president and vice president, and the general election would also result in greater representation of the Indian Americans in the US Congress.

The inaugural presidential ball was held in January 2013. Next year’s ball would, among the other things, showcase Indian-origin influences in the US, like Yoga, Bollywood and the Indian Cuisine.

Kamala Harris, Ami Bera and several other Indian-Americans have a much greater chance of winning the election to the US House of Representatives. “We hope that after January, Indian-Americans could comprise of one percent of the members in the Congress,” Rangaswami said.

This event is of great importance for the Indian diaspora living in America and will also symbolize its importance in American Political System.
