Indo-American woman Nandita Bakhshi named President, CEO of Bank of the West

Indian-American woman Nandita Bakhshi

Houston, March 29 (UITV)- Indian-American woman Nandita Bakhshi, who was born in Kolkata, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Bank of the West, a unit of French banking giant BNP Paribas.

Bakhshi succeeded Michael Shepherd as Bank of the West next President and CEO and is expected to take over the roles of President and CEO-designate effective from April 1, 2016 and will take the helm officially on June 1. Meanwhile, Michael Shepherd will take on the role of Chairman of BNP Paribas USA.

Bakhshi completed her bachelor’s degree in History at the University of Calcutta and Masters in International Relations and Affairs at Jadavpur University. She previously held several leaderships at different top banks in United States like executive vice-president and head of North American Direct Channels.

She has also served as executive vice-president of Consumer deposits and Payments at Washington Mutual in Seattle, which is now JP Morgan Chase. She has also served as managing director of mobile payment division at FleetBoston, now Bank of America.
