New York, Oct 10 (UITV)- Indo-Caribbean Alliance (ICA) will felicitate New York senator Roxanne Persaud and other leaders on their 4th annual gala. The Fourth Annual Gala will be held at the NYC Arena of Friday, October 28.

ICA is a nonprofit organization that provides vital programs, services and advocacy to immigrants from Guyana, Trinidad and other pan-Caribbean countries. The gala will highlight ICA’s work over the past years, and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to Indo-Caribbean society in America.

For the event, one attractive theme would be a Grand Masquerade Ball reminiscent of “A Night in Venice.” The emcee will be Shamina Rai, former producer and host of the Emmy Award Winning PIX11 News in New York City, as well as a TV host for the international South Asian Television Network, ZEE TV. With nearly a decade of experience in the television industry, Shamina has worked with and interviewed some of the most exciting names in the business.

Senator Roxanne Persaud is the highest ranking Indo-Caribbean elected official in US and was elected on 19th Senatorial District in November 2015 after serving in the State Assembly.

Roxanne was born in Guyana, South America and migrated to the United States with her parents and siblings. She has spent many years as a Higher Education Administrator prior of being elected to the State Legislature. Her dedication towards community involvement and her interest in helping others stretches well beyond Brooklyn.
