Maravanthe: The least known stunningly breathtaking place of Karnataka

Maravanthe,April 28 (UITV): Maravanthe is a getaway which can be best described as nature's basket full of enchanting scenic views. A beautiful beach town with white sand spread miles and miles along the coast fetches the beach a nickname of a Virgin Beach.

The sunset turns the entire place shaded in the shade of sepia just out of a painter's canvas. Covered with several places of the excursion, the town is decorated with a sharp backdrop of Kodachadri Hills, while the Arabian Sea bounds it from one side and Sauparnika River on the other side. With pleasant weather especially during winters, you can visit the beach here, go snorkelling or scuba diving or even go on a trek at Kodachadri Hills!


Padukone village, named after Badminton legend Prakash Padukone who was born here is a small village which is located in the Udupi district of Karnataka. The village is beautiful and is encompassed on all sides by Bhatkal Taluk in the north region, Udupi Taluk in the south part, Hosanagara Taluk in the East region and Sagar Taluk in the West region. Since the village is located near the Arabian Sea, the climate of the village is humid most of the year. The residents of the village speak the local language Tulu.

The village is properly connected by roads on the one hand but another most common mode of transport for the villagers as well as tourists is by a boat ride from the Souparnika River. At first, the boat was rowed by hands, but now with the advent of latest technology, motor-boats are being used instead. The boat can hold the seat a maximum of 10 people and the charge per person for a ride of half an hour is INR 450.

Kodachadri Hills

Kodachadri Hills caters to a stunning backdrop of evergreen forests to the town of Maravanthe. Located in the Western Ghats at a height of 4411 feet above the sea level, they also prove to be one of the superior trekking trails, beginning at the South Kanara Forest.

Maravanthe Beach

Located only 12 km from the key city of Kundapur, Maravanthe Beach is one of the most alluring beaches in the city of Karnataka. The shoreline of this composed beach runs alongside the National Highway 17 (NH17) at a little distance of 100 meters! On one side, the gentle waves of the mesmerizing Arabian Sea crash at the shore of the Maravanthe beach; and as you look to the other side, the Kodachadri Hills delivers a stunning backdrop for the Sauparnika River that reaches out to the shore of the beach. Each and every person visiting the Maravanthe beach should defintely witness the sunset.
