Nainital -The perfect honeymoon paradise


UTTARAKHAND, MAR 06, (UITV): Nainital may be a Himalayan resort town within the Kumaon region of India’s Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of roughly 2,000m. Formerly a British hill station, it’s set around Nainital Lake, a well-liked boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore.

A car runs to Snow View observation point (at 2,270m), with vistas over the town and mountains including Nanda Devi, Uttarakhand’s highest peak. It is believed that the Naini Lake is one of the 64 Shakti Peeths or religious sites where parts of the charred body of Sati (Parvati) fell on earth while being carried by Lord Shiva.

The spot where Sati's eyes (or Nain) fell, came to be called Nain-tal or lake of the attention. The goddess Shakti is worshiped at the Naina Devi Temple, known by locals as Naini Mata Temple on the north shore of the present-day lake.

Nainital with its beautiful lakes, temples and exotic scenery around is that the perfect honeymoon paradise nestled within the arms of Kumaon Hills with an air that is refreshing and carries a subtle charm.

Nainital has earned the epithet of ' Lake District ' of India

Blessed with its own scenic lake, Nainital may be a hill station surrounded by the peaks of Kumaon Hills and is filled with natural predicament springs. Nainital is split into two parts, Tallital and Mallital, with the lake separating them.

Tallital is that the southern side of the lake, while Mallital consists of the northern upper reaches. it's also referred to as the Lake District of Uttarakhand and is known as after Goddess Naina Devi.
