Pyongyang urged to free Americans and South Koreans

Seoul, June 25 (UITV/IANS)- Seoul on Sunday urged North Korea to release six South Koreans and three Americans held in prison.

"North Korea must release our citizens and Americans currently in prison there," said South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon, in a ceremony at the Seoul Olympic Stadium to commemorate the 67th anniversary of the onset of the Korean War, reports Efe news.

North and South Korea are technically still at war since the 1950-53 Korean War, ended with an armistice that has not been replaced with a peace treaty.

Jharkhand Governor Draupdi Murmu returns contentions land act amendments

Ranchi, June 25 (UITV/IANS)- Jharkhand Governor Draupdi Murmu on Sunday returned the contentious amendment bills for making changes to two land acts, which had been lying with her office for her assent.

The Governor returned the amendment bills with a query, local media reports said. "How the amendments will benefit the tribal people?" is the query posed to the Chief Minister Raghubar Das-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump to discuss defence partnership and counterterrorism

Washington, June 25 (UITV/IANS)- Talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump in what would be their first face-to-face meeting would focus on ongoing cooperation, including counter-terrorism and defence partnership in the Indo-Pacific region, besides trade and law enforcement, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has said.

Spicer said that talks between the two on Monday would be "robust".

"... The President and the Prime Minister will discuss ongoing cooperation, including counterterrorism, defence partnership in the Indo-Pacific region, global cooperation, burden-sharing, trade, law enforcement, and energy. I think it's going to be a very robust discussion," he said at his regular briefing on Friday.

Modi left New Delhi on Saturday on a three-nation tour that will take him to the US, Portugal and the Netherlands. He reached Portugal on Saturday ahead of his visit to the US on June 26 and will visit the Netherlands on June 27 on the way back home.

Los Angeles, June 25 (UITV/IANS)- Actress Nicole Kidman says her children were upset about her portrayal in "Paddington".

The 50-year-old actress has children Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, with former husband Tom Cruise and Sunday, nine, and Faith, six, with spouse Keith Urban.

"I did 'Paddington' and they were able to come and be a part of it, but they have very little understanding of what I do - their lives are obviously far more important," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Kidman as saying.

Chennai/Thiruvananthapuram, June 24 (UITV/IANS): It was a proud moment for Noorul Islam University on Friday as the Indian rocket PSLV lifted off successfully with the varsity-made nano satellite NIUSAT along with ISRO's Cartosat and 29 co-passenger foreign satellites.

Varsity Chancellor Majid Khan along with the students and teachers rejoiced at the lifting off of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.

The nano satellite was built from scratch by the students of the NIU, located in Tamil Nadu, about 30 km from the Thiruvananthapuram railway station.
