Nouméa, New Caledonia

Nouméa, 19-Sep-2018, (UITV) - Nouméa is a city lies on a protected deepwater harbour in New Caledonia. New Caledonia is a French territory comprising dozens of islands in the South Pacific Ocean.
Noumea is serving as capital city of New Caledonia and it is the largest city in country.

James Paddon was first to establish a settlement in the vicinity in 1851, he was a British trader. The noticeable thing is, Nouméa served as the headquarters of the United States military in the South Pacific during World War II.

Nouméa can be considered as a city of pleasure offers a range of activities that will inspire you with its diversity. Inviting beaches in the city offer many opportunities to enjoy.
Snorkelling, windsurfing and kite surfing, golf, tennis and swimming are some of major activities which can be experienced by visitors.  Museums and art galleries are also present in city.

Amédée Islet

Speaking of islets near the city, Amedee Island provides superb experience. It does all the Pacific boat trip staples – coconut-husking demos, traditional dancing, big buffet lunch – but also throws in a glass-bottomed boat trip and sun loungers on the beach.

The city maintains much of New Caledonia's unique mix of French and old Melanesian culture.
Aquarium of the Lagoon is a home for the collection underwater species. To enjoy the flora and fauna of the island optimally, one should visit Zoological Forest Park which is located in the heights of the city.
