Sri Lanka bombings toll 290, 24 arrested

Colombo, April 22 (UITV/IANS)- With the death toll in the deadly Easter Sunday suicide bombings in Sri Lanka increasing to 290, police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera on Monday confirmed that 24 people have been arrested for their involvement in the island's bloodiest attacks in a decade.

Gunasekera confirmed the toll and the arrests to the media here. He also added that 500 people were injured.

The Sunday night toll was at 207, which was revised as more bodies were recovered and some more succumbed to their injuries, the Guardian reported.

Kerala woman killed in Colombo blast

Thiruvananthapuram, April 22 (UITV/IANS) - A Kerala woman holidaying in Colombo was among those killed in suicide bombings in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, authorities here said.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed condolences over the death of 58-year-old P.S. Razeena, who arrived in the Sri Lankan capital along with her husband to meet their relatives engaged in business in Colombo.

Razeena and her husband, who hail from Kasargode in Kerala, live in Dubai and were staying at one of the three hotels in Colombo targeted on Sunday by suicide bombers.

A spokesperson for the state agency of the Kerala diaspora told the media that they were talking to the Indian High Commissioner's office in Colombo to see that Razeena's body was brought to Kerala.

Sara Ali Khan calls brothers 'Easter bunnies'

Mumbai, April 22 (UITV/IANS) Actress Sara Ali Khan has shared a heart-melting photograph of her brothers Taimur Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, whom she has fondly called "Easter bunnies".

Sara posted a photograph of Ibrahim and Taimur on Instagram on Easter Sunday. In the image, Taimur, the son of actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and actor Saif Ali Khan, looks at the camera; a slight smile lights up his face while spectacled Ibrahim has his arms around his toddler brother.

"My Easter Bunnies... munchkins, brothers in arms, double trouble," Sara captioned the image.
