Sanjay Leela Bhansaali says he replaced Sushant in his films because the actor had prior commitments

Mumbai, July 07 (UITV): Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning to cast Sushant Singh Rajput in four films, but replaced him because Sushant was busy with other commitments, the Mumbai police has been told in investigations into the actor's death. Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, is said to have committed suicide in his  apartment at Mumbai's Bandra on June 14. The police are investigating allegations that professional rivalry, apart from clinical depression, drove him to suicide.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali recorded his statement with the police yesterday for three hours. The police are investigating into the actor's contracts with production houses like Yashraj films etc. and also those projects like 'Paani' that were shelved.

SSR who is regarded as a rising star who went popular with his charactr as Maanav in the serial 'Pavitra Rishta', Sushant Singh Rajput worked in many hit films including "Kai Po Che", "PK" and "Chhichhore". His last film, "Dil Bechara" whose trailer released yesterday garnered more than likes , will release this month; the trailer has clocked thousands of hits. His co-star in the film, Sanjana Sanghi, is among those who faced the questioning by Mumbai police.

His one dialogue in the movie is making rounds and breaking hearts of his fans even more. ''Janam kab lena he Aur Marna Kab hai.... Hum Decide nahi kar sakthe... Par Kaise Jina hai woh hum Decide kar sakthe hai" that literally means we do not have the power to decide when to take birth and when to die. But we can decide on how to live that life.

Ace director Bhansali, known for blockbusters like "Padmaavat" and "Ram-Leela", reportedly told the police that Sushant Singh Rajput's dates were not available for his projects, thus he offered the roles to other actors.

Statements of 34 people, which included family, friends, co-stars and close aides have been taken in the investigations ordered by the Maharashtra government into the actor's shock death.

The police say they are waiting for a response from Twitter on posts allegedly from the actor's account and shared on social media in the hours before his death.

Security footage of the building is also being checked where Sushant Singh Rajput lived. There were no CCTVs in his apartment as stated by police now.

The police are also waiting for forensic reports of objects from the room in which the actor was found.
