Sushri Ananda, first woman in Trinidad and Tobago receives initiation into ‘sanyas’

Trinidad and Tobago, July 6 (UITV)- Sushri Ananda, General Secretary of Brahma Vidya Peetham was initiated into the saffron robes of ‘sanyas’, a monastic order, the first time such an initiation has occurred in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Sushri Ananda will be now be called Sadhavi Annanand Magi Giri Maharaj.

Sushri Ananda, a 33-year-old Hindu woman, received the initiation from his Holiness Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, head of all sanyasi groups in India.

It was the first time that Swami Avdheshanand ordained someone into ‘sanyas’ outside India. Manu devotees from Britain, Holland, Denmark, US, Barbados, Guyana, Suriname French Guiana and India were among others visited Trinidad and Tobago to witness the  first ever ‘sanyas’ initation ceremony outside India.

Swami Avdheshanand, is the first saint and at and leader of leading organization of millions of millions of sadhus.

The Sanyas Initiation Ceremony took place from July 1 – 4 at Brahma Vidya Peetham International Headquarters in Caratal led by led by Swami Brahma Swaruoanandaji.

Sushri Ananda has taken a vow to detach from the material world and surrender to the divine consciousness for global welfare. Satnarayan Maharaj ji, Secretary General of Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha, also blessed Sushri Ananda at the ceremony on July 3.
