JODHPUR, JULY 17, (UITV): Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the largest private villa in the world. This is only palace to have a working elevator in India. It is situated in Jodhpur, a part of this palace is a heritage hotel today. The palace has 347 rooms, which were occupied by the royal family of Jodhpur royals in the past.

Today, it is one of the best luxury hotels in India and has been recognized for the same by numerous entities. The palace was built in Beaux Arts Style in a mixture of western and eastern architectural styles. No trip to Jodhpur Rajasthan  is complete without spending a few hours at this palace. History:The Umaid Bhawan Palace was built in the year 1928 – 1943. This is a palace that is generally believed to be built with grand yellow sandstone spreading over 26 acres of garden making it one of the largest private villa for all the travelers in the world. Featuring the art Deco and the renaissance design this is a place that has 2 swimming pools and pampering treatments at Jiva Grand Spa.Not just this it also has spacious air conditioned rooms and suits that are specifically that have been designed for royalty, equipped flat screens, DVD players and the last but not the least the spa bath treatments. A pillow menu, and well-equipped mini bar followed by the molten brown toiletries are the things that have also been included in this beautiful palace of Jodhpur.

The Umaid Bhavan palace overlooks from the desert capital of Jodhpur, and is believed to be a 15 minute  from the Jodhpur Airport, and 2.4 kilometers from the Jodhpur Railway station.

 

Attraction in Umaid Bhawan:  The attraction of this Umaid Bhawan is palace, it is cover 26 acres of land and contains many interesting chambers like throne room, private meeting hall, private dinner hall, public meeting hall, library, ballroom, spa, indoor swimming pool, royal sauna, marble squash court, tennis courts . At the entrance, you can find the coats of arms of the royal family.
The hotel has 64 guest rooms including the royal suite of the king. The king and queen suites have marble bathtubs. This is the only place where you can find such bathtubs in the world. The banquet hall that can hold 300 people is now a restaurant, and the museum holds royal artifacts and personal collection of the kings like vintage clock collections, ancient photographs of the palace, classic cars of the king, porcelain wares, memorabilia, mural paintings, miniature paintings and so on.

 

Best time to visit Umaid Bhawan Palace:The best time to visit Umaid Bhawan is from October to March. The palace and the garden around it are at prime beauty throughout the year
If you are visiting in summer, do not forget to bring umbrella with you. Take as much water as possible. It would be very dehydrating.
