UK unveils new 50p Brexit coin

London, Jan 26 (UITV/IANS)- UK Chancellor Sajid Javid has unveiled a new 50p Brexit coin marking Britains departure from the European Union (EU) on January 31.

Javid unveiled the coin on Saturday which is inscribed with the words "peace, prosperity and friendship with all nations" and the date of January 31, metro.co.uk said in a report.

Around three million Brexit coins will start circulating in the UK from Friday (Brexit Day), with another seven million to be minted later in the year.

PM Modi salutes martyrs at National War Memorial on R-Day

New Delhi, Jan 26 (UITV/IANS)- Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid rich tributes to the martyred soldiers as he laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day on Sunday.

He was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat along with the three service chiefs - Army Chief Gen M.M. Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria.

President Ram Nath Kovind also paid tributes at the war memorial.

S. Korea reports 3rd confirmed coronavirus case

Seoul, Jan 26 (UITV/IANS)- South Korea on Sunday reported its third confirmed case of the Wuhan coronavirus amid mounting fears over the spread of the pneumonia-like illness throughout China and other parts of the world.

According to the Korea Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), a 54-year-old South Korean resident of Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak, who arrived back home on Monday tested positive for the new strain of the virus that has killed 56 people in China so far, reports Yonhap News Agency.

Indian missions celebrate Republic Day in UAE

Abu Dhabi, Jan 26 (UITV/IANS)- Indian missions across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) celebrated the 71st Republic Day on Sunday.

In Abu Dhabi, Indian Ambassador to the UAE Pavan Kapoor hoisted the tricolour in the Embassy premises, reports Gulf News.

Vipin, the Consul General of India in Dubai, unfurled the tricolour and hoisted the flag at the Consulate.

The heads of the missions also read out Indian President Ram Nath Kovind's Republic Day address.

Dressed in traditional attire, hundreds of Indian expats attended the official celebrations at the missions.

After the flag hoisting ceremony at the Consulate, the expats sang their national anthem.

Cultural performances were also held as part of the celebrations.

Celebrations are being held in Indian schools, associations and offices across the UAE as well.

New Delhi, Jan 21 (UITV/IANS) India is likely to frame its own English language test, on the lines of TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), for foreign students to improve its ranking among the most preferred countries for education in the world.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) President Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said that after several brainstorming sessions with the UGC, Niti Aayog and other related institutions, the government has identified several issues that held back India from being in top ten or 15 countries for education.

San Francisco, Jan 25 (UITV/IANS) Content moderators at Facebook and YouTube in Europe and in the US have been asked to sign forms detailing that the job may cause post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

According to The Financial Times and The Verge, global professional services firm Accenture which provides content moderators for big tech firms have asked them to sign a form, explicitly acknowledging that their job could cause post-traumatic stress disorder.

Accenture runs at least three content moderation sites for Facebook in Europe, including in Warsaw, Lisbon and Dublin.
