Budget 2018 is not fruitful for NRI Indians

Bengaluru, Feb 20 (UITV): India's Diaspora population is the largest in the world with around 25 million people from India living outside their country, as per the survey.

India retained the top spot among remittances receiving nations, according to a World Bank report. Indians working abroad continue to send more money home than their counterparts from other countries.

Remittances to India are money transfers from non-resident Indians (NRIs) employed outside the country to family, friends or relatives residing in India. India occupied more than 12% of the world's remittances in 2015.

Remittances are seen as crucial to help the Asia’s developing countries achieve the Sustainable Development goals for their impact on global economy and political landscape.

Though India is getting more remittances, but the recent budget 2018 was not fruitful for the NRI's.

Usually, money that is sent home by the NRIs either gets invested in property, stocks, bonds or gold. NRIs expected reduction of GST on property transactions and legal reforms allowing NRI’s to invest in agricultural properties and some pension plans.

Sleep problems during menopause correlated with depression

Washington, Feb 20 (UITV/IANS): A study of middle-aged women by the University of Illinois (UI) found that sleep problems vary across the stages of menopause, yet are consistently correlated with hot flashes and depression.

The UI researchers used data from the Midlife Women's Health Study, which followed 776 women aged 45-54 in the greater Baltimore area for up to seven years.

The women provided annual surveys and blood samples so that the researchers could track sleep disruptions, other menopausal symptoms and hormone levels as women transitioned from pre- to post-menopause, Xinhua reported...

A new website to track CEO Elon Musk’s Roadster

San Francisco, Feb 20 (UITV/IANS): An electrical engineer working in the aerospace industry has created a website to track Tesla CEO Elon Musk's Roadster -- the car tied to Falcon Heavy rocket by SpaceX -- which is zooming through space.

SpaceX fan Ben Pearson has created 'Where is Roadster' website that makes use of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory Horizons data to track the progress of the car and its dummy driver 'Starman' through space, TechCrunch reported on Sunday.

The website would also predict the car's path and let people know when it would come close to meeting up with various planets and the Sun.

The platform would even...
