Asia Cup T20 Series

Asia Cup 2025 is set to kick off, and cricket fans everywhere are preparing for thrilling matches. The tournament will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to September 28, 2025, with games scheduled in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This edition will take place in the T20 format, which means matches will be short, action-packed, and packed with boundaries and quick runs.

The Asia Cup was started in 1984 with three teams – India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. With time, more Asian teams developed, and the tournament grew in size and significance. A cricket event that takes place every two years, the Asia Cup is now in its 17th edition. With eight titles, India has been the most successful team so far, followed by Sri Lanka with six titles.

This year’s tournament is extra special because eight teams are participating for the first time. The United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Hong Kong will join India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan in the competition after qualifying through the ACC Premier Cup 2024. Teams are divided into two groups:

Group A: India, Pakistan, Oman, and UAE

Group B: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong

The teams will play one game against each other in their group. Each of the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four round. A final will take place in Dubai on September 28 between the two top performers from this stage.

The highly anticipated match between India vs Pakistan will take place in Dubai on September 14. It is more than just a game; it is an event that is followed by millions of fans around the world. The chances that India and Pakistan will play each other more than once in the same tournament are high if both teams reach the Super Four and then the final.

Every team has a player who can change the game. India will depend on captain Suryakumar Yadav, vice-captain Shubman Gill, and Jasprit Bumrah. Pakistan has a strong bowling attack led by Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, while Afghanistan is relying on Rashid Khan. This is a big stage for Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and associated nations to prove their strength.
