Australia played their last Super-8 match against India from Group 1 on Monday, in which India defeated Australia by 24 runs. Australia ended their campaign with 2 points in the Super-8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. When they lost to India and Afghanistan in the Super-8 match, they had to pray for Bangladesh’s victory over Afghanistan to reach the semi-finals. However, Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 8 runs and broke Australia’s dream of reaching the semi-finals. From Group 1, Afghanistan have entered the semi-finals with 4 points. Australia had a do-or-die match against India, in which Australia faced defeat. The main reason for his exit from the semi-finals was losing to India. If Australia wins this match from India, then according to the net run rate, Australia will reach the semi-finals and the Afghanistan team will be eliminated.
