Amid ongoing speculation about his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL), MS Dhoni has firmly addressed the rumors, emphasizing his enduring commitment to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In a recent interview, Dhoni stated, “I can play for as long as I want for CSK. That’s my franchise. Even if I’m in a wheelchair, they’ll drag me.”
Dhoni’s dedication to CSK has been unwavering since the inception of the IPL in 2008. Under his leadership, CSK has secured five IPL titles, with the most recent victory in 2023, making them one of the most successful franchises in the league’s history.
In 2024, Dhoni handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad but continued to play as a vital member of the team. Gaikwad, reflecting on Dhoni’s influence, humorously remarked, “Even Sachin is batting well at 50,” suggesting that Dhoni still has several years of cricket left in him.
As the 2025 IPL season commences, Dhoni remains an integral part of CSK, demonstrating his passion and commitment to the franchise.
