The match, held at the Allianz Arena in Munich, ended 2–2 after extra time, with Ronaldo scoring Portugal’s second goal in the 61st minute, his 138th international goal.
Despite being substituted in the 88th minute due to injury, Ronaldo remained on the sidelines during the shootout. He was seen covering his eyes and collapsing to his knees when teammate Rúben Neves converted the decisive penalty, securing Portugal’s second Nations League title.
In the aftermath, Ronaldo expressed his deep connection to the national team, stating, “I have many titles with my clubs, but nothing is better than winning for Portugal. These are tears. It’s mission accomplished and so much joy”.
