The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction is set to hit the headlines as franchises prepare to take their first steps ahead of the big tournament in 2023. With 10 teams in the hunt for Indian cricket’s biggest premier prize, big names like Sam Curran, and Ben Stokes will be on the shopping list for teams like Mumbai Indians, and Chennai Super Kings. With the big tournament just days away, here are a few more players who could also be game-changers at the auction. Since this is a mini-auction, most teams have a stable core group and will be looking to plug a few holes ahead of the new season, such as Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans, who have just six and seven slots to fill respectively. However, there are some, who have cleared almost half their squads for a fresh start like Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, who will be in action the most.
Retention and release resulted at the end of some iconic careers. While Suresh Raina and Robin Uthappa have already announced their retirement from all forms of Indian cricket, West Indies T20 legends Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo have also quit their respective teams and have been hired as consultants by Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings respectively.
With 87 spots up for grabs, the auction ahead of the 16th edition of the T20 league promises to be exciting as the auction pool features some world-class players, who are likely to trigger a bidding war.

The IPL 2023 auction will be held in Kochi on Friday, December 23. The auction may start at 12:30 PM IST and may end by evening.
IPL 2023 Auction Rules
Each franchisee can spend 75% of the total budget and not more. Unlike previous years, there will be no Right to Match (RTM) card option in the IPL 2023 auction. Each franchise will have a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 25 players in their squad.

10. Harry Brook
A former England Under-19 captain, Harry Brook announced himself as a player with a bright future in 2020 with a phenomenal T20 Blast season, averaging 55 and striking 163 in the group stage despite batting in the middle order.
Brook shone in Yorkshire colors in the first few years of his professional summer, notably scoring a maiden first-class century at Chelmsford in 2018 as the visitors were bowled out for 50 runs in their first innings. 7. Jason Holder
Jason Holder was seen as a future talent until a selection panel led by former World Cup winner Clive Lloyd appointed him West Indies ODI captain in 2014. A lower middle-order batsman. After a brilliant outing in the U-19 World Cup, Mavi quickly grabbed attention in the IPL auction and was eventually picked up by KKR for Rs 3 crore. He made his IPL debut for KKR in 2018 but took only 5 wickets. 3. Nicholas Pooran

1. Ben Stokes
New Zealand-born English cricketer Ben Stokes is one of the best all-rounders in the modern-day game. Stokes made waves in his first season of IPL when he was bought by Rising Pune Supergiant for a record price of INR 14.5 crore.
